Messages - An Overview

When you select a message from a board index you are taken to a new screen which shows various things.

At the top of the screen you will see the name of the board the message is in (linked to take you back to the Board Index).  You will also see the number of times the message thread has been read.  Finally you will see a set of icons that allow you to do the following (left to right):

  • Move to the previous message thread (disabled if this is the first thread).

  • Move to the Board Index.
  • Move to the next message thread (disabled if this is the last message on the board).
  • View the messages in a flat format.
  • View the messages in a threaded format.

Flat Format Viewing

Viewing a message thread in a flat format displays all of the messages, one after another.  Each message has a header block which shows (top to bottom):

  • The subject of the message.

  • The poster of the message (clicking the user's name take you to the User Information screen) and their Title (when the post was made).
  • When the message was posted.
  • Buttons to allow you to reply to the message (and edit the message if you posted the message).

The message body follows.

Threaded Format Viewing

The next section of the screen shows posting information (from top to bottom):

  • The subject of the message.

  • The poster of the message (clicking the user's name take you to the User Information screen) and their Title (when the post was made).
  • When the message was posted.
  • Buttons to allow you to reply to the message (and edit the message if you posted the message).

Blow this information you will see the message itself.

Finally you will see any other messages in this thread.  The message that you are currently viewing will have its Subject written in white and the subject will not be clickable.
